he/him/his

Jim built his career as a technology leader using digital innovation and systems thinking to solve complex challenges. He is passionate about applying those same tools to develop more just and equitable food systems.

At The Food Group, Jim serves as Director of Operations, where he leads efforts to strengthen food distribution and drive technology innovation. He brings a technology-driven lens to the work, helping the organization operate more efficiently and responsively to community needs. Prior to joining The Food Group, Jim led global software engineering teams in product and technical excellence roles. In 2017 he co-founded and later sold the SaaS startup Basketful, connecting recipes to shoppable ingredients in apps, websites, and a wide variety of promotions.

Jim lives in Minneapolis with his wife D’Ann and two children. He enjoys hiking, camping, climbing, reading, and nerding out on any technical topic.

The Food Group believes in food equity. They believe in culturally specific foods. They believe in meeting people where they are at. And most of all, they believe in dignity.
