Easy Sirloin Steaks

Ingredients

  • 2 11 oz. Thousand Hills sirloin steak
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
  • 4 tbsp butter softened
  • ½ tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs thyme or rosemary, extra for garnish

Instructions

  • Pat steaks dry with paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Add oil to large pan and heat over medium high heat.
  • Place steaks in the hot pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, adjusting time to your desired level of doneness.*
  • While steak is cooking, combine butter, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper in bowl.
  • Transfer steaks to cutting board or plate to rest for at least 5 minutes.
  • Serve with a dollop of butter and garnish with additional herbs.

Notes

*Use a thermometer to cook steaks to your desired level of doneness. Remove steaks from heat a few degrees before you reach your desired temperature since they’ll continue to cook as they rest.
  • Rare: 130 degrees F
  • Medium Rare: 135 degrees F
  • Medium: 145 degrees F
  • Medium Well: 150 degrees F
  • Well Done: 160 degrees F
