Program Expectations
It is a requirement to attend trainings, 1:1 meetings, and have good communication with staff to be a part of our programs. All participants will have at least 2 required meetings per season with staff. Please find the basic requirements for each program below:
Grower Trainer Program
January through April: 5-8 in person classes per month. Classes are held Wednesday evenings (4:00-6:00pm) and Saturday mornings (9:30-11:30am) in the Twin Cities area
May through October: average of 8 hours per week at your Grower Apprenticeship. These workdays are typically during the week, Monday through Friday, and between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
Incubator and Agrisolar Program
January: 2-3 classes, classes will be held Saturday afternoons (12:30-2:30pm) in the Twin Cities area
March through May: 3 sessions related to General Farm Orientation, Greenhouse Orientation, and Pack shed Orientation (average of 2 hours each) at Big River Farms
Record Keeping: Participants must keep and submit all documents and records required for organic certification. This includes crop plan, field map, seed receipts, sales records, harvest records, and input receipts.
