Blueberry Oatmeal

Adding blueberries to your oatmeal makes this bowl full of fiber, antioxidants and vitamins. This recipe is just one way to prepare oats. Make it your own by using your preferred spices, sweeteners and toppings, like nut butter, chocolate or coconut flakes. The possibilities are endless!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dry oats
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • a dash of turmeric optional
  • 1 banana sliced
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed optional
  • ½ cup blueberries frozen or fresh
  • ½ cup milk of choice optional

Instructions

  • In a microwavable bowl, combine oats, spices, banana and water.
  • Microwave according to the oats' package. (1.5 minutes for old-fashioned oats.)
  • Stir in honey and flaxseed (if using).
  • Top with blueberries.
  • For a cereal-like consistency, add milk. Enjoy!
